Labourer

"Dig and haul. Swing and pound. In the sweat of toil, our fortune is found." -- Traditional labourer's chant.

You have spent your life doing manual labour to make ends meet, and you have become good at it. This background covers all sorts of professions including: Farmers, Servants, Miners, Builders and many others.

It may have been dull, but years of physical effort have made you strong and healthy. Most labourers work with animals in one form or another and this has given you a special affinity with them.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose any two from: Athletics, Animal Handling, or Persuasion.

Equipment: A bucket, a shovel, 4 rations, a backpack, peasant's clothes and 1d4 (2) gp.

Feature: Hard Worker

Your reputation as a hard worker makes it easier for you to find employment. When near to your home, you can ask your Game Master to take your reputation in to account during negotiations.

You also work harder during your downtime to cover lifestyle expenses. Lifestyle Expenses are all reduced by 1 gp per day. This means a "Modest" lifestyle is free, and a "Comfortable" lifestyle costs 1 gp per day. See the SRD for information on lifestyle expenses and downtime.
