Outlaw

"Stand and deliver! Your money or your life!" -- A highwayman's demand.

Maybe you felt you didn't have a choice. Maybe you did it readily. Either way, you found yourself on the wrong side of the law. This background covers highwaymen, pickpockets, con artists, burglars, assassins and reformed ex-convicts.

With the Game Master, decide the details of your crimes. Did anyone get hurt? Was your identity hidden? Did you serve your time or are you still wanted?

Skill Proficiencies: Deception and either Sleight of Hand or Stealth

Tool Proficiencies: Any two from: thieves' tools, disguise kit, forgery kit, or any gaming set

Equipment: A crowbar, common clothes, a face covering, and 3d6 (10) gp. You may also choose from thieves' tools, disguise kit, forgery kit, or any gaming set.

Feature: Connections in low places

You still have a few connections left from your criminal past. If these contacts can't help you directly, they can put in you in touch will all sorts of shady people who can. Criminals rarely work for free, but will occasionally to pay back a favour owed.

Characteristics

Not all outlaws are bad people, but they are all dangerous to know. Outlaws have learned to keep their secrets and tend to befriend only a select few. They always have a plan, even if it's not a good one. Outlaws are often greedy, but not always so. Either way, they all have a special appreciation for shiny things.
