You have lived a life of dusty tomes, ink and parchment. Your mind focused on research and theory. Scholars can include librarians, historians, researchers, scribes and bookkeepers.

Work with you game master to figure out what event pushed your character away from their desk.

Equipment: An abacus, A book of lore related to your field of study, scholar's robes, A scholar's pack, a bottle of ink and a quill, paper, and 2d4 (5) gp.

Feature: Research Specialist

You are practiced at research and gain some advantages when Researching during your downtime. The expenses cost of research is reduced to 2 sp per day. Additionally, if the Game Master requires you to make checks during research, you gain advantage on those checks. See the SRD for information on downtime.

Characteristics

Scholars tend to be introverted and shy. Those that break this mould often become great teachers with the ability to excite their students' imaginations. All scholars love their books and scrolls. They are inquisitive, some almost childishly so, and never give up on a mystery.
